I'm in Europe!

Well, it happened folks— I’m finally in Europe! Split, Croatia, to be exact. I found that my departure from the States snuck up on me. Before I knew it, I was sitting on a plane, flying thousands of miles away from home once more. Weirdly enough, being in Croatia has made me miss parts of my time in China. There are many differences, some similarities, and yet I continue to think about my three months in Weinan. I think each place I visit leaves a lasting impression on me, particularly those that I’ve visited during my gap year. Even though I’ve only spent a week in Split, I know that my love for Croatia will stay with me long after I leave.

I’ve particularly fallen in love with the coffee here (no surprise, right?). It’s all espresso based, and the quality of the coffee is unmatched. Plus, it’s affordable. Needless to say, my caffeine intake has skyrocketed since I arrived in Split. I have an affinity for two of the coffee shops here— Zbirac and Teraca Vidilica. Both have stunning locations, with Zbirac facing Bacvice Beach and Teraca Vidilica sitting atop Marjan Hill. What beats killer coffee and killer views? Nothing that I know of.

I’ve also been loving the plethora of felines wandering the streets here. It’s crazy how many cats they have! I’m convinced I’m going to leave with a new pet, but we will see if that dream comes to fruition.

I made a vlog of my first weekend here as well! Despite being jetlagged and tired, I had such an amazing few days!
